No Direct Access to Evolution Valley from Florence Lake
The second bridge going south into King’s Canyon is out. The river is not passible. There is no access to Evolution Valley from Florence Lake.
THERE ARE NO ALTERNATE ROUTES AOUND THE BRIDGE TO OR FROM FLORENCE LAKE
BE AWARE
All streams and rivers in the Sierra Backcountry are extremely swollen from excessive snow melt.
Waters are not expected to recede until some time in August.
ALL CROSSINGS ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS
Take extreme care crossing any stream or river. Evaluate your ability and gear before attempting any crossing. Know your limits. It is better to turn around than to risk serious injury or death.
